About Us

CIRDEV Resource Centre (Civil Right and Development Resource Centre) was formed in 2003. It was formerly known as Civil Right Initiative Resource Centre (CRI). It is a non-governmental and non-partisan human right and development organization. The Centre is dedicated to the upliftment of mankind through the enthronement of justice, equity and fair play, and the promotion of the quintessential virtues of honesty, integrity, transparency, and accountability in all human activities.

The Centre is committed to being in the vanguard of revolution for the requisite change that is aimed at reforming and transforming our society from being a body of self-serving individuals to a nation that place high premium on selfless service for the common good of all.

Through symbiotic partnerships, training and dissemination of knowledge, human re-orientation, and policy recommendation, CIRDEV will bring to bear human ingenuity that can be used to improve the total well-being of our people and humanity at large.

OUR INSTITUTIONAL GOAL

The main institutional goal of the Centre is to initiate and promote sustainable development by shaping the contents and context of public programmes and policies in collaboration with Local and International Civil Societies and Development Agencies, Community based Organizations, individuals and government establishments.

We promote the culture of due process, anti-corruption and rule of law.

We advocate for peaceful co-existence through civic education.

We promote & protect Fundamental Human Rights as enshrined in the Constitution and International Agreements.

We sustain a meaningful campaign for youth independence, growth and gender parity.

We promote human and environmental development.

OUR FUNDING MODALITIES

CIRDEV will be funded essentially through donations, grant, honoraria from individuals and Centres, bequests, gifts, legacies, membership dues, grants, fund-raising event, income realized from fee-based services and consultancies.
